I was born in June in the New York city of, Poughkeepsie. If you have heard of Poughkeepsie, you know that it is well known for IBM. Back in the day, IBM was THE computer company for mainframe computers. Mainframe computers had no where near the power or the storage that the computer that either sits on your desk or your phone has now.
Being born in Poughkeepsie usually meant that you were somehow tied to IBM. I was no different. My dad was an IBM Systems Engineer (SE) designing and working on the operating system (think Windows, but not) for those big computers.
Well, I do not remember much because after living there for two years, my family moved to the Washington, DC area and I have lived here ever since.
I guess all the of the discussions about computers stuck as I took classes in Data Processing (that’s what they called it back then) in my junior year of high school and in my senior year of high school I was a co-op student and worked at IBM in Manassas, Virginia.
My career kept me working on mainframe computers, even when the PCs initially came out. But then I went to work for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and it all changed when a partner there asked me to work on his home computer and paid me to do it.
Slowly, I saw a need to help people at their homes and businesses. In 2002 I purchased a franchise that really got me beyond helping people as a paid hobby and turning it into a business and after breaking away from the franchise in 2009, Frogworks was born.
Over the years, I have met many people. On this page, you will see me with some of those people and some of the things they said that made an impact on me.
